Quentin: From a Tired Art Deco Sideboard to a Striking One of a kind Luxurious Drinks Cabinet.

Quentin, this stunning Art Deco drinks cabinet, has been a treasure for over 100 years. 

His story is one of resilience and rebirth. Despite enduring water damage and countless bumps and bruises, Quentin remained structurally sound, ready for a new chapter as a beautifully restored unique cocktail cabinet.

As I embarked on his restoration and redesign, I couldn't help but wonder about the countless hands that had touched him, the laughter he had witnessed, and the stories he could tell.

His back and drawer base needed a complete overhaul, while his original finish required a meticulous stripping, sanding, and re-oiling to erase the scars of time.

Inside his double door opening was tastefully transformed. Gone were the outdated vinyl and varnish, making way for a vibrant new look: sanded, painted, stenciled, and adorned with a mirror, toughened glass, and a motion-censored light that seemed to dance with every movement. This elegant redesign ensuring Quentin to be the perfect statement drinks cabinet for any sophisticated gathering.

Quentin’s Drinks Compartment

His curved side cupboards were thoroughly cleaned, their shelves and walls painted with precision, and a touch of gold added to evoke the luxury and glamour of the Art Deco era. The middle top lift-up cutlery tray was sanded, painted, and felted, with stenciling that mirrored the outer design, bringing the beauty inside out. Though originally designed for cutlery, this feature now added a unique touch for bar accessories and upgraded Quentin's role from a simple sideboard to a stylish bespoke drinks cabinet.

His drawer was lovingly restored, stained, and felted to match the cutlery section. Every hinge, piece of hardware, and mechanism was polished and oiled until they shone like new.

Now, Quentin is ready to serve as the centerpiece of any cocktail party. His unique Art Deco charm and functionality makes him the pinnacle of opulence when it comes to drinks cabinets.
